about Louise Collier

I have lived in Australia for over 35 years.  I was born in Lowestoft, England and at the age of 17 my family moved to Perth, Western Australia.

 

From a young age I excelled at art, however it was not until many years into adulthood that I finally found the inspiration and time to pursue my talent.

 

In early 2015 I moved back to Perth after spending ten of the past twelve years on islands in north Queensland and in the Kimberley region of WA.   Whilst away from busy city life and amongst rich colours and stunning scenery I was inspired to paint.  My work is definitely influeneced by my experiences in the Kimberley, Low Isles and the Whitsundays and this is reflected in some of my works.

 

Art for me is an expression of appreciation for the beauty of everything and can capture moments in time that are good to remember.  I like to think my art will evoke happy and positive feelings in the viewer.

 

For the past four plus years I have been teaching art.  I am very appreciative of the opportunity to do this because I enjoy sharing my knowledge and the satisfaction and joy of personally creating an artwork.
