Service Description

Paint & Sip introduces Fiona Reidy - Nyoongar Artist. Paint Fiona's "Magpie", whilst sipping a beverage and enjoying our gourmet platters of cheeses, pickles, dips, veg, etc. Bring your friends and enjoy a wonderful evening as you are guided through the painting process to create your own stunning art piece to take home. Nothing more to pay, just BYO your own alcohol. About Fiona I am a very proud Noongar business woman of the Balardong Clan, traditionally located in the Brookton/York area in the Wheat Belt Region of Western Australia. Painting is my passion and the way I can express myself through life.. I strive to reinvent my artwork by experimenting with different techniques with a few of my pieces done in 3D image which captures the eye with a rhythmic combination of vibrant colours making each piece jump out at you. The strong connection I feel for my people gives me a deep sense of belonging to my Noongar people which is why it's important to be close with my family. I love learning about (my people) the Noongar people’s history to bring the past into the present for the future with my paintings. My love for my culture, the land, my people and most importantly my family is what helps me stay grounded. Aboriginal people are gifted story tellers and many of my paintings are about my people in the hunter and gatherer days, being nomadic people who lived by the six seasons. I love painting about the Noongar Six Seasons as it represents how our Ancestors lived. I’ve lost count of how many of my artworks have been purchased globally such Switzerland, Canada, Jamaica, Singapore, Thailand, UK, New Zealand and the USA just to name a few. It is an amazing feeling knowing that my artwork is taking centerpiece in a home in another country. Djinda Kaal is my artist name in Noongar meaning 'Star Fire' which my beautiful mother chose for me.
